We miss you Jackie...
On March 17, 2010, Rebecca’s Hope suffered a great loss when one of our founding members, Jackie Snarr was tragically taken from us. At the young age of 48, Jackie died suddenly in a snowboarding accident at Beaver Valley Ski Club. She died doing what she loved best, but, that gives little solace to those who knew her and consequently loved her; Scott, her loving husband, daughter Anne Marie and sons Andrew and Tommy, her Mother, her brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews.
As AOS President Jackie had recently returned from the Vancouver Winter Olympics where she was official assistant to the chief of competition in snowboarding. She had sent home emails claiming this to be “one of the best times of my life”.
Jackie made a life of giving. She was a teacher, mentor, mother, wife, daughter and dear friend. She gave of her time and talents to Rebecca’s Hope, working tirelessly to make all our fund raising events for Leukemia Research at Princess Margaret hospital the great success they were. Spending time with Jackie was like being in the centre of a powerful positive energy source. She brought life to all she touched.
We miss you dear friend, and we know that you will be watching over us now with Rebecca, as we strive to do justice to your precious memory here on earth.
